Rabbits

We rehome bunnies to live both indoors as house bunnies or outside.

We ask for permanent access to 60sqft of predator proof space. Whilst we are flexible and open minded with regards to accommodation the safety and well being of our bunnies must come first.

For outdoor accommodation all mesh must be a minimum of 16g in order to prevent predators from chewing through. We ask for a roof and solid floor, whether this is slabs, concrete or mesh underneath grass. All doors must have a strong bolt or catch.

For indoors, bunnies must have permanent access to 60sqft of space, this must be safe from harmful plants, exposed wires and any other potentially harmful items.

Remember bunnies are crepuscular so shutting them away at night is not in their best interests.

We do ask for lots of enrichment for bunnies, having space just isn't enough. So tunnels, hides, dig boxes and forage trays/snuffle mats are a must. As well as natural toys for them to chew.

Please note we only rehome bunnies to live as part of a pair or group we do not rehome them to live alone, they do need company of their own kind.

Your rabbit will need to be neutered and vaccinated just like ours. We will ask you to show us proof of this during the adoption process.

Companionship

We do not rehome rabbits to live alone, we truly believe they need companionship of their own kind, regardless of how much time you spend with them. Whilst it is possible to bond two males together or two females we do believe the easiest /most stable bond is a male and female. There is of course an exception to every rule, especially where bunnies are concerned. All bunnies must be neutered for a minimum of 4-6 weeks before trying to bond them.

Bonding

We do offer a bonding service where your bunny can come and stay with us for around 7 days whilst we find them a friend. We do use the 24/7 bonding method as opposed to bunny dates as we believe it is much less stressful for all bunnies.

Whilst we try our best and supervise the bunnies 24/7 initially, we can not be responsible for any vet bills that may occur due to illness or injury.

If you wish to use our bonding service we would ask that you are able to drop your bunny at one of our foster homes in the Norton Canes area and be able to collect them a week later. There is an additional fee of £100 for bonding.

Please note we do not have the time or resources to bond bunnies that aren't adopted from us.

Guinea Pigs

We primarily re-home guinea pigs as indoor pets. Ideally to a c&c cage, although we do understand that there are lots of other options so please message us to discuss things further.

For a pair of guinea pigs we ask for a minimum of a 5 x 2 c&c cage or equivalent floor space. This must all be on one level. Second levels are great but not all piggies choose to use them.

We ask for an additional 1 x 2 c&c pen per additional piggy. So ...

6x2 for 3 piggies

7x2 for 4 piggies

Whilst we are happy for piggies to spend some time outdoors either in a run, shed or wendy house during the summer months you must have provisions to bring them either indoors or into a heated shed/summerhouse during the colder months of the year. We will ask to see this during your home visit.

Piggies also need something to do, so inside their accommodation we love to see cozies, snuggle sacks, big piles of hay, hides and tunnels.

Please note we only re-home piggies to live as part of a pair or group we do not rehome them to live alone, they do need company of their own kind.

Male piggies should either be kept in pairs or one neutered male per group of females.

Like rabbits we do not re-home guinea pigs to live alone. They are herd animals and as such thrive with companionship of their own kind.

We always look to re-home our neutered males with a female or group of female piggies. We usually do not rehome them to live with another male.

Female piggies we would rehome to live with a neutered male or female. Please note if you have a neutered male we would ask to see proof of this, when applying to adopt.

Bonding

Introducing piggies can be relatively straight forward, however we are more than happy to help and advise you on this should you need it.

Please note we do not have the time or resources to bond piggies that aren't adopted from us.
